Servicing

Routine servicing plays an important role in ensuring your automated system performs to its best and can be relied on to provide the security and convenience you need. More importantly, regular servicing and inspections ensure that your gates, barrier or bollards remain safe and, in many circumstances, legally compliant.

Automated gate systems are comprised of many components that work year-round in extremes of weather conditions. Our many years of experience across all brands and types of automation systems allows us to focus on the areas that really matter, and you can be safe in the knowledge that we won’t miss important details that can make the difference between reliability and frustrating breakdown at an inconvenient time.

We follow, but are not limited to, a 28-point check list that covers all areas from lubrication to structural inspection, electrical testing to safety risk assessments and functional testing of safety systems. This list is designed to cover everything to ensure your system operates perfectly and is safe for all users.  Most failures of automated gates can be attributed to excessive wear of components through poor adjustment and a lack of lubrication, water ingress into electronic enclosures and connections and, significantly, insects and slugs. We aim to prevent these issues from arising rather than reacting to the effects at a later date.

Our specifically designed management software keeps accurate records of all servicing and repairs, allowing us to provide reports and risk assessments as required and prompts when services are due, so you don’t have to remember.

Our commercial customers can also sign up to maintenance agreements with pre-scheduled visits and the security of knowing that your legal obligations have been met.

Repair

Repair is where we really excel.  Some faults are very obvious with a clear course of action such as replacement of components or welding after a vehicle collision, but the real skill is spotting patterns and behaviours that help to diagnose intermittent or complex faults.  There is no substitute for the decades of experience in the field that equip us with the ability to quickly and efficiently diagnose and repair your gates.

There are hundreds of automation brands and systems, all with their own specific traits, but with careful observation it is possible to spot the cues that point to the issue.

Our objective is to return your gates to service on our first visit wherever possible and we carry as many spare parts as possible to achieve this.  If we cant, we'll provide you with a clear and formal quotation with a plan of action.

Risk Assessment

Every automated gate system should be safe for all users and we ensure that gates are risk assessed when taking them onto our maintenance program and routinely assess them on each visit.  If we believe action is needed to improve the safety levels of your system we will explain why and give a clear quotation so you are fully informed throughout the process.

We also offer a risk assessment service for new gate systems and those that we do not maintain.

Upgrade

There are times when automation systems need improvement or are just beyond economical repair.  We always look to find the most cost-effective solution for our customers but if we do recommend an upgrade to part, or all of your system we'll make sure we plan for the future and offer you the best product to suit your needs.

Most older systems just need an upgrade to the control electronics and the addition of some safety devices to ensure they are safe and compliant.
